Identifying Your Child’s Potential From the 7 Types of Intelligences

There are 7 known types of intelligences that have long been identified and used in the education field. Even with the newly-found types of intelligences, it is essential to start with these 7. In this entry, I would like to share with you what they are and how these intelligences can help you cater learning to your children.

  • Linguistic intelligence
  • Spatial intelligence
  • Logic intelligence
  • Kinaesthetic intelligence
  • Musical intelligence
  • Interpersonal intelligence
  • Intrapersonal intelligence

Linguistic intelligence 

If your child is seen to express himself well both in writing and verbal,  then, your child can be said to have developed his linguistic intelligence. Empower them with a lot of reading material and spare them ample time to speak their minds when they speak. Award them with writing tasks like giving them diaries, a blog or wish-card writings.

Spatial Intelligence

If your child has the ability to imagine and make drawings in 2D & 3D, then be happy to know that they are actually having strong spatial intelligence. These kind of children usually good at gaming, and aerospace could be their passion.

Logic Intelligence

If you are seeing that your child is good at chunking his problems into small bit, then your  child is probably having good logic intelligence. Here, your child will show his ability to see insights better than any other children, tend to be well-organised or possess good discipline.

Kinaesthethic intelligence

Dear mothers,

If your child shows no signs of slowing down from any physical activities that he has been involving, then, this could probably be the answer. Children with kinaesthetic intelligence have a great control over their bodies, hence, they can perform complex body movements with ease compared to others. So, next time, if any of your children show their deep interest in football, netball or any athletic activities, let them embrace their strengths.

Musical Intelligence

If you keep seeing your child humming unknown noises, be glad that your child could probably be musically intelligent. Children with this type of intelligence usually have strong ability to identify various sound patterns around them. It is  also no surprise that this kind of children usually have the ability to learn playing musical instruments with much ease than the rest of the family members. Sometimes, they can also play instrument by ear.

Interpersonal Intelligence

Have you heard about born leaders? If you think you do, look at your child. If he has a great way of influencing into accepting his points of view, yet, is very responsible towards the duty you give him, he is smart!

Intrapersonal Intelligence

The last type of intelligences is this one whom you see in the children who are very content to themselves and are fine to be on their own. They are not totally secluded from their surrounding but keeping things to themselves is just their strength.

Before I sum up, I’m sure you wonder if the children can have more than one from these 7. The answer is, yes! They certainly can, so now it’s on you to identify the prominent ones in order to help your children excel in their lives.
