What is a noun, you may ask. A noun is basically the name you give to everything you see in this world. Your friend, things, plants around the house, the car you ride on to school, you name it – they all have a name and that is what noun is.

There are a few types of nouns and they are as the followings:

• Common nouns
• Abstract nouns
• Possessive nouns
• Compound nouns
• Collective nouns
