The Day I Put On The Housewives’ Hat

The Day I Put On The Housewives’ Hat

You see, although this is my second time being a housewife, I would say that this time everything is very much mundane and almost as much as how every mother out there can figure out. An early warning: these 5 people share the same load of housewife chores once they decide they are ready to be called a mother. They are: your biological mother, your step-mother, your mother-in-law, the mother who breast-feed you, the grandmother who looks after their grandchildren while their parents are at work.

I am not going to tell you how much tiring a day is like being a housewife, rather; I am very much saddened by the fact that my husband went out to a shopping mall when he just told me that he was going to a neighbouring supermarket today. When one of my daughters dropped the things that they had bought and made way to the shopping mall, I realised a time-bomb was just about to explode. WOW!

Being a housewife means you are acting like a soldier. Ever-ready for the unexpected.

Now that I am alright about it (because I rather put my strength to write this up than crying over something he cannot undo), I began to gather some of my Facebook friends’ updates. One was given a seasonal spa treatment. Another shared how she does not need to cook whenever she does not feel like doing anything. Also, another friend shares how some girlfriends-only time helps her revive her self again. Slowly, I begin to understand that a little break from routine helps you greatly with your sanity. Not that you are literally insane without it, but an essential break puts back the nearly-lost smiles in the faces of many housewives.

I quietly began to feel sorry. Perhaps when I was a career woman, I did not experience or see this side of housewifing. I also began to realise that this invitation to go out together by the husband is even matter although you are capable of going out on your own and have in fact, being going out on your own happier, sometimes. Then, I learn something meaningful today – whatever the husband provides is always a better option. *smile*
